Alan Murray is probably the most active community artist in Liverpool of the past 30 years.
Go Lambabana. Mural Painter. winner of Liverpool Art Fair 2018. Cass Art prize 2019
He’s an oil Painter, sculptor – created the Titanic sculpture on Park Road, and has been instrumental in many community arts projects with local youth initiatives, community projects and Exhibitions.
Blatant Class Prejudice has seen him removed from various exhibits, due to nature of his Anti-War images, and as he is working class, he has been excluded from opportunities.
His art is a statement that challenges the glass ceiling of middle class pretentious snobbery – and highlights how a class ceiling excludes those born without privilege from opportunities.
He uses old master techniques and processes to achieve realism in his oil paintings, that encompass fantasy art, political discourse and deliver a push back against the conformity and mundanity that the current social Zietgist offers.
